A date with the stars

Mandopop stars Michael Wong and JJ Lin will be making special appearances to usher in the auspicious Year of the Rat at developer SP Setia’s Chinese New Year carnivals.

The caring-themed carnival will take place at its various township projects in Penang, Selangor and Johor from tomorrow till Sunday.

In Penang and the Klang Valley, the carnival titled SP Setia Cares – Michael Sings for Unsung Heroes will honour the less fortunate and unsung heroes – the carers, social workers and volunteers – who selflessly devote time and energy to brighten the lives of the underprivileged.

Taiwan-based Ipoh-born singer-composer Wong will entertain guests at Setia Pearl Island, Sungai Ara in Penang tomorrow and at Setia Eco Park, Canopy Club, Shah Alam on Saturday. Both events are open to the public starting 6pm and admission is free.

In Johor Baru, the carnival themed Setiahomes Recycle with Love Charity Campaign aims to create awareness on the importance of recycling and preservation of the environment.

Singaporean singer-composer Lin will perform at the concert at Setia Eco Gardens, Johor Baru, on Sunday.

Free tickets to the concert, which feature a host of other attractions starting from 5pm, are available in exchange for recyclables brought to any of SP Setia’s Johor projects – Setia Eco Gardens, Setia Tropika, Setia Indah or Bukit Indah
