Nicholas Teo challenging Electronic Dance Music for the first time

Kuala Lumpur: It was reported that for the sake of an upcoming concert, Nicholas Teo specially recorded a single and it was written by a local songwriter, Chen Ying Jian, titled "Xin Ge Shi Chang" (Attempting to sing a new song). This will be a "First and Last" record for Nicholas which marked his first try at dance music and performance to be included in his first compilation album (New Songs + Compilation). On the other hand, it will be his last album collaboration with overseas record company EMI.

Nicholas' contract with EMI is drawing to an end and taking into account that its trustee general manager, Chen Ze Shan has left, will it not bother him that EMI company will divert their attention? He expressed: "In truth, our contract has finished at the end of last year, only that there's a compilation album to be released. There's no intention of releasing it earlier due to the contract ending. Added to that, "Wang Zi" album was released in June so we would like to complete all promotion activities before talking about future directions. Of course, my management company (Singapore's Warner Music)and artiste manager were discussing about matters related to the concert in Malaysia. Thus, to accommodate it, we would like to release the Concert Theme Single and (New Songs + Collection). I believe I have been working very happily with EMI company all this while so they will still put their heart into planning this compilation album. Haha!"

You have once expressed that after your contract with EMI has ended, you will be a singer who belongs wholly to Warner. Does this indicate that you will be renewing contract with Warner? "Haha, my situation is indeed complex due to the fact that I first started off in Malaysia and Singapore, moving further from such places to Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Then, I transferred those releasing rights to EMI and now I'm fulfilling the conditions of contract. I am solely that of Warner Music. As for the question of contract renewal, I haven't thought about that yet. There'sstill another year to go for me to ponder. I'm the type of person who places strong importance on relationships and will only not worry when I work with people whom I know well and they too know me well. Haha!"

Not worried about concert ticket sales

《Nicholas Teo From Now On Live in Malaysia》will take place on March 29th at Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil. This will be his first ticket-sale concert since entering showbiz and it will be held in a 10,000 seating capacity venue. Even so, Nicholas was not at all worried about ticket sales.“I wanted to say, whether the place will be full is not up to me to have control over. However, I trust the company, television and radio stations and also have confidence in my fans. Haha!Hoping on that night, everyone will be able to turn up at this 10,000 participants' KTV Concert Show.”

With regard to the concert theme song, Nicholas has gone beyond his limits for it!A first attempt at dance music and performance.“This is a retro + pop electronic dance song, composed and written by local musician, Chen Ying Jian, titled 《Xin Ge Shi Chang》. We first collaborated in the song, 《遊戲》(Game) and later, I felt that he really understands my musical directions. This time when requesting a song from him, he wrote a dance song which gives off great atmosphere. It will be first broadcasted through MY FM on March 18th. Everyone, remember to tune in!

For the purpose of this song and theme, Nicholas also exhibits dance performance for the first time in the MV. At the same time, he has also begun concert dance rehearsal.“I think fans should be wishing to see me dance onstage during the concert. Ya!Haha! Hoping that I can offer everyone a different kind of feeling and performance!”

Nicholas' 《New Songs+Collection》will be out in the middle of March. Apart from having concert single《新歌試唱》(Xin Ge Shi Chang),there will also be additional two new songs + 20 popular love songs from prior albums. This should be counted as "Selling Big Pack" as returning fans' favour!
